From Passion to Profession: My Journey Through Barbering and Family Legacy in the Beauty Industry...
I’ve been passionate about barbering since the age of 12. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the beauty industry—my mother, aunt and sister are all cosmetologists, and I have several cousins and uncles who are barbers—I was naturally drawn to this craft.
Throughout my high school years, I honed my skills by cutting hair for friends in my neighborhood, and this passion only grew stronger when I transitioned to college. There, I became the go-to barber for many on campus, continuing to serve my community with pride.
Barbering isn’t just a job for me; it’s a family tradition and a lifelong passion that I am excited to share with others.
My growth...
I graduated from college with my bachelor's of science in Finance, which laid the foundation for my understanding of business operations. After graduation, I dedicated two years to working at my mother's beauty salon, where I further developed my barbering skills and gained firsthand experience in the beauty industry.
Following this, I spent seven years in corporate America, seeking to learn how larger businesses operate and treat employees. My goal was to understand the intricacies of running a successful enterprise, beyond the mom-and-pop approach that I was raised around. My mother and father were both entrepreneurs and owned their own businesses.
Seeking employment in corporate America equipped me with the knowledge and insights necessary to effectively manage and operate my own business when the time came in 2005, as I aspired to model my future endeavors after successful big businesses in the industry.
Achieving Success Outside of the Beauty Industry...
My interests extend beyond barbering; I have always had a keen fascination with money and finance. I am particularly passionate about investing and growing wealth and exploring various avenues for financial growth.
The beauty and barbering industry remain at the forefront of my passions, but I also find great fulfillment in learning about the different ways money can be earned and the importance of multiple income streams.
Additionally, I am deeply committed to helping others understand money and finances, empowering them to build a solid financial foundation for a comfortable life after work. I believe that by sharing this knowledge, we can all work towards creating a secure and prosperous future.
